Daylight savings ended last night to mess with peoples schedules for today. We were up at dawn being the new 6.00am. Once again we were first away at 7. Good easy paddling to Ngaporo campsite then there were a few rapids. Two looked nasty so we took the shallow water options which meant getting out and pushing over the rocks in the shallows. Saved us from having to bail heaps of water out of the canoe. Definitely another pleasant day of paddling on the river.
Arrived at Pipiriki at 10.30am and the camp ground lady took our drums and gear up for us. Stayed in a cute little cabin that had 2 single beds. Along with the hot shower and basic cafe food (fish and chips) it was more than adequate for our needs. Nice to have a relaxing afternoon in the sun.
