Tuatapere to Okaka Lodge (Humpridge Track)

A delightful day.

Picked up from the Tui Base Camp at 8 by shuttle van and at the road end by 8.30. Very pleasant bush walk for a few kms then a beach walk. Not long after we started up the hill. At 12.30 I came to the lunch shelter where a nearby bridge has a billy on a rope that you can drop into the stream to get water. Cute.

Not long after the real climb started but with my pack being so light it was real easy. Lots of boardwalks today which are really good. At the turn off to the hut the boardwalk continued up the hill to see a couple of nice tarns and the view of some of Fiordland. Really good.

The Lodge is pretty good. They even sell beer and food. Bought and cooked Tuatapere sausages peas and mash. It was a good meal.
