Left backpackers at 8.00am, booked a cheap standby flight to Invercargill then headed to the boat for Ulver. It left at 9 and took 20 minutes to get to the Island. I had 3 hours to explore and look for birds. The booklet about the island was very helpful. The birdsong was excellent as was the range of birds I saw. Also the vegetation and undergrowth was excellent. Caught a boat back at 12.15 then had another look around the DOC visitor centre. To the flight place at 2 and landed at Invercargill at 3.
A guy gave me a lift into town and dropped me at the vaccination centre. I got my booster jab.
