A great day and place to finish on.
Slept through my alarm for the first time ever so a bit of a rush to get to the meeting place where Dennis was waiting. Grabbed a big brekkie burger at McDonald’s on the way as it was the only place open at 6.30am. The burger was really nice.
The council has recently created a dedicated walking/cycle trail all the way to Bluff and it is sealed most the way. Made for really easy walking.
Made it to Bluff by 2, took the photos then looked for a pub to get a beer. Then back to Invercargill and the Backpackers. Dorothy had bought the medals for us. Thank you Dorothy.
We celebrated with dinner at Lone Star.
Now I’m full on planning for the Stewart Island trip.
