10/1/22, Day 80, 23km, Total 1999km
Elevation Gain: 933, Loss: 813m
Another easy day and the end is close. Just 200km to go.
Couldn’t get hold of the courier company this morning and no updates on the tracking so we decided to do the section in my old shoes. I’m sure they will make it to Colac Bay when we next see Dorothy.
We were at Princhester Road and ready to walk at 8. Only 6km of road walking to the first hut then into the bush and up the hill to a saddle.
The rest of the day was mostly downwards with a lot of it in open tussock country.
One other person (Karen) at the Aparima Hut.
Tomorrow is 23km to a campsite. We are carrying 5 nights of food which is the most we have had to carry since the Richmonds and Waiau Pass sections.
