An easy day with stunning scenery.
Left at 7 again and the whole day was a pleasant easy walk down the river valley. Most of it on a 4WD track. Fortunately the only significant river to cross was the Ada near the homestead. This was easy enough fortunately. I had been a bit worried about it.
Not long after the Ada the track turned up the Henry River and then onto the St James Walkway.
The Anne Hut is in an awesome setting in a huge meadow. It is pretty new and very comfortable. Three couples here doing the 5 day St James walk. It appears to be a popular track.
It was cool today gazing up at the hills that once grazed Merino sheep. Now the only animals seem to be rabbits and deer. Oh, there were a few horses at the Ada Homestead. Lots of geese and a few paradise ducks around too.
It’s 10 hours and 30km to Boyle Village. I might try to make that tomorrow although there are 3 huts I could use.
